  • Why First Coast CrossFit?

    First Coast CrossFit is all about getting better. When you join us, you’ll join more than a gym – you’ll join a tribe. We’re just like you. We’re mothers and fathers and sons and daughters and bosses and employees and students. We’re not perfect. But we know we can be more. Our tribe is about that – the relentless pursuit of improvement.


    Yet seeking improvement is a pretty scary thing. To come with us, you’ll have to leave your comfort zone. To set your ego to the side. To forget what you’ve been told and try new things. To admit that, just maybe, you’re not there yet. But you won't be alone. We’ll be there for you, helping define your goals and measuring your progress. We know you can do it. How? ‘Cause we did it.


    We like CrossFit because it works. Give us 90 days and you’ll see the results of your effort in the mirror. Give us six months and you’ll be a different person. You’ll be leaner, stronger and faster, but more importantly, you’ll have the confidence of someone changed themselves through hard work and commitment. You’ll stand taller and laugh louder, plus you’ll look better naked, which is pretty cool too.

  • What is CrossFit?

    Maybe you’ve heard about CrossFit, but you’re still not sure exactly what it is. Maybe the CrossFit Games on ESPN got you curious, but you’re a little intimidated by the shredded hardbodies performing seemingly inhuman feats. Yep – we felt the exact same way.

    Crossfit workouts get the most out of your body.

    Those supermen and superwomen on TV are all CrossFit, but CrossFit is more that. CrossFit recognizes that we are all athletes. Time and inactivity may have taken their toll, but the natural athlete within us is still there. CrossFit understands that maybe we’re not Olympic–level athletes or even high-level recreational athletes, but we are still athletes and have the same physical needs as those guys.


    Stated differently, there may be real differences between our athletic capacity and the capacity of a pro athlete, but we can still move in the same way. We need to run, jump, lift and throw to live a full life. So do our grandparents. So do pro athletes. And so do you.


    The beauty of CrossFit is that it meets you where you are and improves with you. The most important concept in CrossFit is maintaining intensity of effort, but “intensity” means something different for everyone. We’ll work with you to find the right level of “intensity” for you that will safely optimize your results. When you improve, we’ll change it. And we’ll keep changing it until you get where you want to be.


    CrossFit defines itself like this:


    CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

    Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

    The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

    The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.


    That’s a great summary, but we look at CrossFit a little differently.


    To us, CrossFit is freedom. The freedom to live the life you want, on your own terms. Want to run a 5k? No problem. Feel like picking up that ball again and getting out there with your kids? Check. Just tired of getting tired carrying the groceries in the house? We’ve got you covered. With CrossFit, you’ll gain freedom from the physical limitations that restrain your current self. Be more. You can do it. We’ll show you the way.

  • What Does It Cost?

    “When you buy quality, you only cry once.”

    This is Truth. We’ve all bought the thing from the bargain rack and had it break days later. Since you’ve read this far, we’d bet that you’ve probably joined a gym or two in your day. But did they work? Really work? As in change-your-life work?


    We are expensive compared to the nearest globo-gym. There are cheaper CrossFit gyms too. We know it and we don’t apologize for it. We‘ve got top-notch gear, top-notch facilities and top-notch programming. We know the quality we’re providing and, if you stick with our program for 90 days, we bet you’ll agree that our prices are more than fair. In fact, you’ll probably think we’re a bargain. After all, what’s your health worth (not to mention getting back in your skinny jeans)?


    Our pricing is also a function of our desire to weed out the lookie-loos and tire-kickers. We want folks that are willing to commit. We’d make more money luring you in with low rates, cramming our classes as full as possible, and then taking your cash to the bank when you stopped coming. But that just ain’t us. We want you here and we want you to want to be here. Our pricing is designed to give you a reason to keep coming back, especially on those days that you aren’t feeling it. It’s your hard-earned money and you gave it away – come get your money’s worth. We’re ready to give you all the value you can handle.


    We value the folks that lay it on the line and do the things that let the rest of us go about our day, happy and safe. So yeah, while we’re pricey, we give cops, firemen, soldiers, and sailors a break. They deserve it. Teachers too – Lord knows, we put our teachers through the ringer, so consider this payback. We’ll cut students a deal too because they’re broke, plus they're just fun to be around. If you fall in one of these groups, give us a ring and we’ll give you the skinny.
